Fourteen children who were arrested after the death of the teenager

After the death of a teenager in a fire in the industrial unit, fourteen children were arrested for suspected homicide.

The incident occurred on Friday evening at Fairfield Industrial Park in Bill Quay in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

The fire was brought under control, but a body of which it was assumed that, according to the police, Northumbria was missing in the building, was found in the building.

Eleven boys and three girls between the ages of 11 and 14 were arrested for suspected homicide and remain in police custody.

The police said they were made aware of the fire shortly after 8 p.m. about reports.

The inquiries should come in an early stage and the officials asked members of the public not to speculate about what happened.

Rescue services accepted and the fire was deleted shortly later.

In a police explanation it says: “Afterwards we issued an appointment against the missing young Layton Carr last night – it was assumed that he was in the area at that time.

Unfortunately, after the search for the police and the partner of Northumbria in Tyne and wearing fire and emergency services, a body of 14-year-old Layton Carr died in the building.

“His next relative has been informed and is currently supported by specialists.”

“Extremely tragic”

Det Ch Inspire Louise Jenkins from the Northumbria police said: “This is an extremely tragic incident in which a boy unfortunately lost life.

“Our thoughts are at Layton's family while trying to process the loss of their relatives.

“Our specialists will continue to support you as you can. We ask that your privacy will be respected at that time.”

She added: “A cordon stays in place while we carry out inquiries to determine the complete circumstances in connection with the incident.

“I would like to thank our officers and thank you at Tyne and wear a fire and emergency service for their efforts during the night.”
