The Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum attracts the red line for Donald Trump

The Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that she had a red line to protect the sovereignty of the nation during a call with President Donald Trump and his suggestion to use US troops in MexicoT Saturday.

“I said to him: 'No, President Trump, our territory is inviolable, our sovereignty is inviolable, our sovereignty is not for sale,” said Sheinbaum.

Why is it important

The United States and Mexico have involved a number of negotiations on important topics such as immigration, drug trafficking and joint water resources in recent months. Sheinbaum has signaled that it will work with the USA, but has drawn fixed borders around Mexican sovereignty, which makes it clear that every cooperation must respect the country's autonomy.

Trump largely fought for economic and immigration policy, promised to raise numerous tariffs and to operate illegal immigration.
