California houses catch fire after small aircraft falls are crashed in the neighborhood

At least one person is dead and two houses were badly damaged after a small plane crashed in a California quarter on Saturday afternoon.

Ventura County's fire brigade confirmed that a small, one -engine aircraft with a fixed wing collapsed in two houses on the 200 Block of the High Meadow Street in the Wood Ranch region in Simi Valley.

Preliminary reports indicate that a person who was on the plane has died according to a press release from the fire brigade.

This person has not yet been publicly identified.

The residents were in both houses at the time of the disaster and were evacuated without reported injuries.

From 4:30 p.m. local time, the fire had been put down and the crews worked on overtaking and salvage operations.
