Benteke and Kijima in the first half in the first half for DC United in the 2-1 victory against Rapids

Washington – Christian Benteke and Hosei Kijima each scored a goal in the first half on Saturday evening to help DC United beat the Colorado Rapids with 2-1.

DC United (3-5-3) only won for the second time since it defeated 2-1 against Sporting Kansas City on March 8.

David Schnegg played a float ball that was distracted before Benteke bounced off a header from the floor and into the back post in the fourth minute of the stopover. About three minutes later, Kijima ducked in the last second in front of the defender Matti Peltola and put a volley away from the vicinity of the penalty point that rolled into the net from the fingertips from goalkeeper Zack Steffen to bring DC United in the lead at half -time.

Darren Yapi from Colorado opened the evaluation with a header from the point-blank range in the 43rd minutes. Rafael Navarro tried to push a shot from the right side of the area near the post, but goalkeeper Luis Barraza struck him away. Navarro secured the rebound along the goal line and then led a cross to Yapi for the finish from the back post.

The rapids (4-3-4) grabbed their three games unbeaten stripes.
