Celebration of life for the 3-year shot in DC before a year-NBC4 Washington

It was a year since the 3-year-old Ty'ah settlements were tragically killed-a innocent victim in a change of shooting in the Hartford Street in the southeast of DC

Family and friends gathered on Saturday evening on the site to celebrate life. The pain is still sharp.

“The family is still destroyed. They overcome their obstacles and hurdles, but that is not an easy task,” said Bernard Brown, Ty'ah's godfather. “Every day you wake up, look for your little girl. You are looking for your little girl to say: 'I want that to eat.' You are looking for your little girl: “Hey, I want to put on Mickey Mouse.”

It was May 3, 2024 when shots broke out in the neighborhood. Ty'ah was fatally shot when she was sitting in the back seat of her family's car.

The police have been looking for the people who are responsible for a year, but nobody was arrested.

“The family and the community want to see what every family and community wants to see if there is a small child who is innocently caught in the middle of shots,” said Brown. “You want to see results.”

There is a reward of 50,000 US dollars for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

“We know that someone in the community has information that can help our detectives deliver justice,” said Pamela Smith, head of the Metropolitan Police Department. “We need someone with this information to report immediately.”
