Southeast Minnesota at Tornado until 11:00 p.m. Monday – Post Bulletin

Rochester – Southeast Minnesota is on Monday, April 28, 2025, until 11 p.m.

The Tornado Watch includes, among others, in Minnesota Olmsted, Dodge, Winona, Wabasha, Goodhue, Mower and Fillmore.

The heavy storms are predicted for late Monday afternoon and night, especially in Southeast Minnesota, Northeast Iowa and in West Central Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service. These storms are expected to develop nearby or only west of the Interstate 35 corridors and move to the east.

Big hail, harmful winds and tornados are all possible, said NWS. The “highest threat window” is currently between 6 p.m. and midnight.

Storms can develop via Northeast -Iowa, West and Central -Wisconsin between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., NWS said. There is a narrow window in which these storms can produce a tornado and a diameter of 1 to 2 inches.

“Isolated storms over parts of western/central Wi. These can quickly become a tornado with a large hail. Otherwise we monitor a strong storms about central MN, which is moved after 5 p.m. with a heavy storm/tornado chances east of I-35,” said the NWS in La Crosse, Wisconsin, said on Monday afternoon.
