Hamas publishes a video of injured Israeli prisoners in Gaza

The armed wing of the Hamas, the Ezzedine al-Qassam brigades, has published a video that shows an Israeli prisoner in the Gaza Strip, which was identified by Israeli media as Maxim Herkin.

In the film material, the visibly injured prisoner, who carries an association over his head, explains that it belongs to the 59 prisoners who are still kept in Gaza. He mentions that he was wounded in an Israeli air raid, but “death escaped” and said: “I am in a very difficult situation.”

Herkin describes the circumstances around his captivity as a direct result of the “military pressure”, which is exerted by Hamas Israeli regime in order to release the prisoners.

He added that he had no access to medication, which is extremely difficult to obtain in Gaza, since total Israeli blockade is on all humanitarian aid in the Palestinian area. He explained that the visit to the hospital was also “from the question”.

In addition, he expresses concern about another Israeli prisoner who was with him during the attack and says that he doesn't know what happened to him.

Herkin suggests that if the son of Prime Minister Netanyahu or the children of his ministers in Gaza were captured, the war would end a long time ago.

In a rare recognition, Netanyahu said on Thursday that defeating Hamas was more important than securing the release of the remaining prisoners in Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu was often exposed to the families of the prisoners and other protests to call him to implement a ceasefire with the Hamas and to secure their release.

The prime minister said on Thursday that it was important to get the prisoners back, but added: “There is a great goal in the war. And this highest goal is to win over our enemies.”

Netanyahu Mark's comments when the Prime Minister expressly described for the first time to regain the prisoners as the secondary goal of the war in Gaza.

The Israeli authorities have announced in the past few weeks that they believe that only two dozen of the 59 remaining prisoners in Gaza are still alive.

Hamas has warned that relentless Israeli bomb attacks have endangered the life of the prisoners.
