According to a Gofundme page, Waziri worked with the US Army in Afghanistan for seven years before looking for a better and safer life with his wife and two children.

The HPD is now asking its local community to arrest the alleged shooter and to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident.

According to Outlet, Waziri's family said that the alleged shooter had “stayed in the apartment for days” after the incident and conveyed fear to the residents.

“Even the neighborhood was afraid of him,” Waziri's brother told Click 2 Houston. “He came here to be safe, but nobody is sure here.”

Attorney Kawaja added the outlet: “There was no proper examination to determine who and heard what belongs from the scene. Self -defense is a positive defense. You cannot provoke the incident and then increase the right to self -defense.”
