2 people and a dog dead after the plane crashes into the neighborhood

According to reports, two people died after a small plane came into a quarter in Southern California.

Around 1:50 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 3, a one -engine aircraft fell into two houses in Simi Valley and held a fire on both properties, the Fire Brigade of Ventura County said in a press release that was shared on Instagram.

“VCFD was sent to a one -engine aircraft with a fixed wing, which fell into two single -family houses with an active fire in the 200 Block of the High Meadow Street in Simi Valley. Firefighters began an aggressive fire attack and quickly cut off the fire,” said the VCFD.

“Both houses were occupied at the time and firefighters helped with evacuing residents,” she continued. “No injuries for residents or firefighters were reported. Both houses were affected by fire and continuing structural damage.”

The pilot, a passenger and a dog on board the plane died in the accident. The Simi Valley police authority confirmed ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

The police initially said in a press release that a person died on the plane at the scene, then the VCFD reported that two passengers were “fatally injured in the accident”.

The plane had driven from Lancaster to Camarillo before it was a turn according to ABC 7 in the quarter of Wood Ranch.

The Fire Brigade's film material on X shows a house with smoke that comes out of it after the fires have been extinguished and rescue workers at the scene.

Arman Hovakemian, who lives in one of the houses hit by the plane, was a witness to the crash. He said he had “almost saw the plane flying on his side” before he met the back of the house, ABC 7 reported.
