JSO added that the man had an extensive drug history and that he might have to deal with a psychological health crisis when the situation occurred.

Tom Hackney, the analyst of News4jax Crime and Safety, explained how the law enforcement agencies are trained for similar situations, and said the police have a goal of ducking, but sometimes things change quickly.

“It not only harms the person who does something to kill themselves from the law enforcement authorities to their immediate families, but also on the officials,” said Hackney. “The spectators who see this may not think of the trauma associated with the life of a life by law enforcement officer, but it is there and it weighs them.”

According to the JSO website in officer-involidated shootings, two cases were originally for an “armed suicide” in 2025.

“There are two sides of this coin when we talk about it,” continued Hackney. “Each of these incidents must be viewed in their own incident at their own discretion.

And Hackney says that the department will probably take a look at the overall picture to see which trends happen both locally and nationwide.

The public prosecutor examines this incident and as soon as JSO will carry out his own.
