Trump orders the reopening of the infamous Alcatraz prison

Donald Trump said he was blowing his government, Alcatraz, the former prison on an island off the coast of California, to reopen and expand.

In a message about his social side of truth on Sunday, President Trump said that “for too long America was plagued by malignant, violent and repeated criminals”.

The reopening of Alcatraz would serve as a “symbol of law, order and justice”, he said.

The prison was closed in 1963 and Alcatraz Island is currently working as a tourist place. It is near San Franciscos Golden Gate Bridge.

“Today I lead the prison office together with the Ministry of Justice, the FBI and the home protection to reopen a significant enlarged and rebuilt Alcatraz,” wrote Trump.

The prison would “accommodate America's ruthless and most violent criminals”.

President Trump got into conflict with the courts of his policy to send alleged gang members to a prison in El Salvador. In March he sent a group of more than 200 alleged Venezuelan gang members. He also talked about sending “local criminals” into foreign prisons.

Alcatraz was originally a festive defense and it was it rebuilt as a military prison in the early 20th century. The Ministry of Justice took over it in the 1930s and took up convicts from the federal prison system. The notorious gangsters Al Capone, Mickey Cohen and George “Maschinenwehr” Kelly were among the more famous inmates.
