NASCAR at Texas 2025 results, winners, evaluation, highlights and reaction

Joey Logano displaced Ross Chastain in an overtime thriller on the Texas Motor Speedway with only 0.346 seconds and won the Willh 400 behind the wheel of team No. 22 Penske Ford.

Logano had not cracked the top 5 this season and only had a top 10 place before Sunday, which made his first victory of the year a decisive step in its rise. He also achieved 42 stage points in victory.

Last week Austin Cindric secured a victory for Team Penske behind the wheel of number 2 Ford on Talladega Superspeedway. Before Cindric's victory, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson dominated the Cup series and each won two of the previous four races.

In the William Byron of Chevrolet's William from Wourth 400 remained on the Cup series, which he held most of the season with a 31-point pillow over his teammate from Hendrick Motorsports, Kyle Larson, over his Hendrick Motorsports team. Denny Hamlin from Toyota sat in third place and left Byron for 52 points.

After the race on Sunday, the overall ranking recorded a great shock. Logano climbed to ninth place and sat 133 points behind Leader Byron, who held a 13th place at the upper town. Larson closed the gap from Byron after taking fourth place and winning level 2. Hamlin fell back and was bound by the tour with 83 points with Chase Elliott.

On the Texas Motor Speedway, Cindric demanded the victory of the first stage 1 and collected 10 points, while Larson won level 2 and also scored 10 points.

Logano started in the 27th position and recorded his fastest round of the race with 28.97 seconds and led seven laps before the victory.

The race was full of chaos when the third stage turned into a wreck -filled route. Bubba Wallace brushed the wall in round 172 and solved a crash of chain reaction with Noah Gragson, Alex Bowman and AJ Allmendinger, although Chad Finchum also has damage. All five drivers had to retire to the garage.

Previously, Hamlin suffered his first DNF of the season after his car caught fire. A total of 12 precautionary flags flew on the wild day.

The campaign will be resumed next Sunday in Adventhealth 400 at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.
