Man who was killed only 6 days before his wedding in construction site accident

Akron, Ohio (Woio/Gray News) – A construction worker who was killed in a construction accident in Ohio should marry in less than a week.

The Summit County Medical Examiner identified the victim on Friday as Marcus Miller (23) from Millersburg.

Miller's obituary describes him as “a relaxed personality and a ready smile”. Miller leaves his fiancee, parents, siblings and members of his church family.

The Akron police officers answered the 300 block of the White Pond Drive at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday to receive reports on a construction accident.

Lt. Michael Murphy, Akron police department, said Miller worked on a new housing estate at the time of the incident.

According to Murphy, the workers reported nearby that a collapse of a wall was heard, and they found Miller died when they followed him.

Preliminary information indicates that the 23-year-old performed the framework when an outer wall collapsed, says Murphy.

The incident is examined by the police and the Summit County Medical Examiner.

The mayor of Akron, Shammas Malik, said Miller's family a side dish.

“I would like to express my sincerely to the family and the friends of the construction worker, who unfortunately lost life in today's incident at the white pond development agency.
