The charismatic singer of the New Wave Band, who achieved his greatest success in the 1980s with hits such as “Sixechy Eight Guns” and my personal favorite “Rain in the Summertime”, died on April 29 with only 66 years of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Peters was in Hughes' assessment “a really wonderful person, friendly and gave, who fought hard and took care of others who traveled on the same street, a tireless advocate of survivors of blood cancer.”
