Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors eliminate Houston rockets in the first round, Indiana Pacers shock Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round

The Golden State Warriors hit the second round of the NBA Playoffs (AEST) on Monday (AEST) and shook two defeats in a row to achieve a 103-89 game victory over the Houston missiles.

The Warriors were the last team that started the semi-finals of the conference that started on Monday morning when the Indiana Pacers considered the Eastern Conference Top Seeds Cleveland on their home floor.

Curry's Warriors have a knack for devastating the Rockets after they excluded Houston in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2019 and 2025 from the NBA playoffs.

Tim Bontemps, Senior Espn NBA author, said about the rule: “There are not many players who have tortured a fan base in the way Stephen Curry has done over the years. At that time it was a solid decade.”

Curry scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter of his 22 points, when the Warriors finally frustrated the rockets with the second seed, the two dominant victories and had the visions of being only the 14th team that gathered from 3-1 to win an NBA playoff series.

In a Warriors team that was stacked with experience after the season, Buddy Hield, who played in his 11th Playoff game, bored nine three-point three-pointer at eleven attempts on the way to 33 points.

“A lot of resilience,” said Curry. “Everyone appears. Everyone in the last two games in terms of our execution, our energy, spoke all of this about our team.

“We blocked everything and only understood that we had 48 minutes to dig deeply. Everyone contributed.

“Buddy Hield was incredible,” added Curry, after the Warriors had got a collision in the second round with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who replaced LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers in five games.

In the first half, Curry's first basket was a three pointer with 33.3 seconds before the lead. But Hield was on fire and made six three points on the way to 22 points in the first half and Draymond Green added 10 points to help the warrior for a 51-39 half-time lead.

She pushed the lead up to 15 before the rockets fought back and cut her deficit to three.

Amen Thompson scored 24 points and scored nine rebounds and Alperen Sengun with 14 rebounds for the Rockets, but Houston only made six three points and drove 70: 62 into the fourth quarter.

Then Curry came to life and opened the last frame with five straight points. Jimmy Butler had six points in a 12-0 warrior run, which brought her lead to 20 points with 2:31.

Butler ended with 20 points and Curry said that his arrival from Miami in February was the key to the late Playoff boost of Golden State.

“So that we build chemistry during the running and build up trust in the ongoing structure and how we can appear in a seven game, this means the world,” said Curry.

“So, mission fulfilled – step one.”

Pacers Betun Cavs

In Cleveland, Andrew Nembhard drilled on the way to a team high of 23 points five by Indiana's 19 three -point, and Tyrese Haliburton scored 22 points and distributed 13 assists for the Pacers, who scored six players in two numbers.

“I thought we did a great job to start the game properly,” said Haliburton, who had delivered the game winner in the 119-118-over-hour triumph, who achieved the victory of the Pacers against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.

Pascal Siakam scored 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter when Indiana took over a lead of 36 to 25.

The Pacers crossed a 33-point performance by Cavs-Star Donovan Mitchell and 17 own sales, which led to 22 Cleveland points.

The sales helped Cleveland to return a 12-point deficit from a 12-point deficit at the beginning of the third and to bring a one-point lead over Evan Mobley's hook shot with 3:16 in time.

Mobley added 20 points and 10 rebounds, but the Cavaliers clearly missed the All-Star Point Guard Darius Garland, who missed a third game in a row with a bricked toe.

They could not react when Indiana put together a 15:4 goal run to move back in the fourth quarter.

“We survived the storm,” said Haliburton. “We did it by getting stops, racing and just playing Pacers basketball.”
