One person was killed at a shootout in Fayetteeville on Sunday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., officials from the Fayetteeville police department reacted to an apartment complex in the 600 block of the Barton landing site near the Cliffdale Road.

According to the police, one person was shot several times. The person was declared dead in a local hospital.

The victim's name is held back until family members can be notified. No suspicious information was published.

The shootout is examined.
