The local regional hospital receives lower in the last security assessment than the normal results

Adventhealth Redmond and Atrium Health Floyd received in the spring of 2025 Hospital Security Guide, a semi -annual report by the Leapfrog group, which rated hospitals nationwide to prevent damage for patients.

Redmond, who previously retained a number of “A” Schnitings, was downgraded to a “B” this spring. While the hospital continued to achieve well in the surgical security and error prevention, the prevention of infections and patient decays remained below average. Communication and general patient care were classified as average.

Atrium Health Floyd, which received top grades in the last 2023, received a “C” report in the latest report. The Rome Hospital in Rome was praised for the communication and responsibility of its care team, but was too tight in areas such as infection control, fall prevention and surgical results.

Adventhealth Gordon in Calhoun and Piedmont Cartersville also received “B” cakes nearby. The Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton stepped with a “C” Atrium Floyd at Atrium Health Polk was not included due to its small size.

Nationwide, only 19 of 79 Georgia Hospitals received an “A”. Overall, Georgia's overall rank went back dramatically, from the 15th in the nation in 2019 to 35 this year.

“Avoidable mistakes are still a big problem,” said Liz Coyle, Managing Director of Georgia Watch. “Hospitals have to make security for every patient a core priority every time.”
