Sabah Corruptionskandal: Macc Forensic Review of Viral Videos that are about to be completed, says Chief

Putrajaya, April 29th of the Malaysian anti-corruption commission (MACC) of video clips, which allegedly affect a corruption scandal, which is connected with several meetings of the Sabah State Assembler via the licensing of the mineral degradation, is expected to be completed within a week.

The MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said that forensic reports on the 10 viral video recordings had been preserved, but the agency still took time to thoroughly examine all evidence before making decisions.

“I assume (analysis results) in about a week. I also asked for updates. I also pressed my civil servants because I don't want this matter to be delayed,” he said after I had visited the Southeast Asia Anti-Korruption conference 2025: remind you of Jakarta's declaration here today.

Azam said that the review process takes time due to the volume of the participating records, and MACC wants to ensure that the examination is carried out fairly and thoroughly.

“Everyone asks why it takes so long. But we have to understand, that includes 10 videos, not just one. So we have to examine them very carefully.

“We have to be fair. Otherwise, parties will be questioned whether the forensic work was impartial. So we have to do it right,” he said.

Recently, several video recordings were supposedly discussions with bribery between certain people and several Sabah legislators in connection with the mineral licenses in the state. – Bernama
