Android 16 battery symbol licks in accordance with material 3 expressive

Google is working on a new design language for Android 16, and a new leak shows how the updated battery symbols work in the update.

While the Android 16, which we know in the beta today, do not feel so new, Google clearly has something big in the pipeline, as countless recent leaks have shown. In addition, “Material 3 Expressive” is a new design language that has gone through Google's official blog posts.

Through these leaks we saw a look at a newly designed battery symbol for Android 16, but now another leak shows that in more detail.

Mystical leaks Pictures of the new battery symbol in Android 16, which is now horizontally, were on telegram. The roud corners of the icon alone are a fresh design – one that feels very like a UI 7 and iOS – but we also see the influence of material 3 expressive if certain conditions are met. When the battery reaches 20%, it becomes either red or yellow, with the battery saver with a “+” symbol on the right side. Similarly, it becomes green when the device is charged and shows a symbol that represents electricity to the right.
