The crime of South Nashville was highlighted after ice operation

Nashville, Tenn. (WSMV) – South Nashville is under a microscope after the authorities of the federal and state authorities carried out the raids that they claimed were in the interest of public security.

In an explanation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol announced that they were aimed at areas that are known that they have gang activities and serious traffic accidents.

Data from the U -Bahn police show that more than 2,300 crimes were reported in the southern district, including crimes such as serious attacks and car theft.

While it is most of the city, it only makes 19% of the city's total crimes, which is over 12,000.

Despite these findings, the residents and heads of state believe that the area is assessed unfairly.

“It is insulting for me that my district, which I proudly represents on it, is targeted as a place of all criminal activities in the state of Tennessee and that the people I represent are called criminals,” said the state representative John Ray Clemmons to WSMV4.

The Metro police have confirmed that they were not involved in the operation of this weekend.

Immigration law groups say that some of the prisoners have been brought to other countries.

As a result of the operation, Davidson County's legislative delegation sent a letter to THP and Homeland Security, in which answers were asked for what took place.

The local legislature sent a letter to THP and DHS and requested additional information on the raids.
