Braun Levi Death: 19-year-old Loyola High School Tennisstar Betöt

Manhattan Beach, California (KABC) – The halls of the Loyola High School in Pico-Union were much quieter on Monday morning.

Friends, classmates and relatives will get a grip on the death of the teen tennis star Braun Levi, who was only removed from the end for a month.

What happened to Braun Levi?

According to the Manhattan Beach police authority, the high school senior went with a friend on Sunday at 1 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle.

The driver, the 33-year-old Jenia Belt, is now confronted with possible dui and murder suspicions. It is held without a deposit.

The news of the death of the teenager spread quickly.

“I was at a tennis tournament, and it just didn't feel real,” said Kiran Spurling, a high newcomer from Loyola who played with Levi Tennis.

The Levi family gave a warm statement on Monday and said that his heir and joy will always be remembered.

“After we have lost brown, there will always be an emptiness in our hearts – we decide to celebrate the extraordinary 19 years that we could share with him. In every room he entered, it was brown.

Levi was a national tennis star at Layola High School in La and won his fourth tennis championship in a row last week. The student athlete planned to continue his tennis career on the University of Virginia.

“I once played with him Doubles and he was really a great, not just tennis and was a great teammate,” said Spurling. “He would like to cheer me up, even if I made a bad shot.”

A few months ago, the Levi family lost their home in the fire of the Palisad.

Father John Quinn from Loyola High said Levi took this tragedy and turned it into one way to help others.

“Just a very moving experience to see that Braun is his senior project outside of Loyola to turn around students to help others help them in the same situation to have lost everything they had,” said Quinn.

Community comes together to mourn

On Sunday evening, Levi's close school community packed a prayer vigils filled with tears on campus.

The group said they find strength into each other.

“Braun was a friend and an inspiration for me,” said Paul Jordan, director of Loyola High Assistant. “He was a friend of everyone who knew him, and we are all better when we knew him. Braun loved his family, he loved Loyola, he loved his Palisades community and he loved you all, his fellow boys.”

Levi is survived by his parents and older sister.

“May Braun's belief, the joy of everyday life and his desire to love all people, inspire us all, to live to the fullest every day. We pray to the Lord,” said a friend at the vigil.
