Know the difference between a weather clock and a warning

(Mix 93-1) East Texas is ready to get an excessive amount of rain on Tuesday. Some areas of the Piney Woods could get more than five inch rain all day long, with several rounds of heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

Our local meteorologists and the National Weather Service warned us about the potential for flood floods during this regenery event. The National Weather Service has published a flash flood guard for the region, which will come into force early Tuesday morning.

Flooding is not the only thing we have to be aware of, since all kinds of storm could be possible if the storm system goes through. During this time we will hear from certain weather warnings and watches, but what do you mean?

A storm of a severe weather warning

Clock means:

The weather conditions are favorable for the development of storms. The conditions are just right for the formation of storm events such as thunderstorms, tornados, hurricanes, etc., but these events have not yet occurred. During a clock, people should stay up to date through weather updates and be ready to take measures when a warning is issued.

Essentially, a clock means “be prepared”.

Warning means:

A warning is issued when storm is imminent or already occurs in the warned area. Warnings are issued when the threat is more secure and more direct, and there is a higher probability of significant effects. If a warning is issued, this means that the dangerous weather event is expected to take place soon or will already take place, and the people in the warning area should take immediate measures to protect themselves and their property.

Essentially, a warning means “take measures now to protect yourself and your property”.

These watches and warnings are issued by the following government agencies. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK, will issue the threat levels according to the predicted weather conditions and watches if there is potential for storm in East Texas.

During a potential storm event, the National Weather Service from the fort. Worth and Shreveport will issue warnings for East Texas when the weather reaches severe limit values.

Storm watches and warnings cover all types of weather conditions

Thunderstorms, tornadoes and floods and warnings are most common here in East Texas. However, there are also watches and warnings for winter storms, hurricanes, wind cold, tropical storms, rivers, fire, freezing, strong winds, excessive heat, ice cream and fire weather.

If you know the difference, you can save damage to property and possibly save your life.

Remember that a warning means “now take measures to protect yourself and your property” while a watch “prepares” means the potential for storms.
