FOMC meets on Tuesday and Wednesday

This week all eyes will be in the Federal Open Market Committee of the Federal Reserve (FOMC), which will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday.

While the labor market was solid and inflation has dropped, it is hardly expected for the FOMC to reduce interest rates at this meeting, as the uncertain economic environment and the tariff effects.

The most important measuring device for what the FOMC could do is the CME Fedwatch survey, the interest dealers for what you expect. From Monday afternoon, 97% of the retailers surveyed expect the FED to keep interest rates in the range of 4.25% to 4.50%.

In addition, the majority, 71%, can expect the same after the June meeting.

The FOMC on July 25th is the meeting that most aims at reducing interest rates. 56% require a 25-point cut and 18% that expect a reduction in 50 points.
