CHP examines a fatal crash near Millville, road closure

The Whitmore Road was closed in both directions near the Cow Creek Ranch Road on Monday, while the California Highway Patrol examined a two-vehicle accident between a black Honda Civic from 2004 and a black Harley Davidson motorcycle from 1999 in the region.

The California Highway Patrol announced KRCR that a person died as a result of this crash, but its name is held back until the next kin was notified.

Chp said that Pamela Sutton, 50, from Whitmore at 2:35 p.m., drove a black Honda Civic Civic to the west from 2004 on Whitmore with about 55-60 miles per hour. For an unknown reason, Sutton allowed her vehicle, south and over the broken yellow lines and to drift to the east, which was occupied by a black Harley Davidson from 1999, which drove to the east to Whitmore with about 55-60 miles. Chp said Harley was driven by a 45-year-old man from Anderson and a 41-year-old passenger from Palo Cedro.

The Harley and Honda collided in the Eastern lane and excluded both inmates from Harley on the south shoulder, said Chp. The driver of the motorcycle was declared dead at the crime scene.

The 41-year-old passenger was flown to the Mercy Medical Center by Redding and suffered serious injuries.

Sutton was evaluated on site, said Chp, that at this point alcohol, drugs and telephone use no factor for this collision seem to be.

This collision is currently being examined by the Redding California Highway Patrol. If this collision gives witnesses, please contact the Redding CHP office at (530) 225-0500.
