Caruso was huge for the thunder with 20 points, five steals and two blocks from the bank, while Gilgeous-Alexander led 33 points.

In the meantime, Jokic – the defending MVP – had seven sales, but they were more compensated for than through his 42 points and 24 rebounds.

Denver interim coach David Adelman paid tribute to Gordon's all-round effectiveness, which ended with 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Gordon said the calm of the Nuggets under pressure had helped them achieve the victory.

“Many boys appeared,” he said.

“We had an attitude and the belief that we would win, no matter the circumstances.”
