Fayetteeville Infant was left alone in the bathtub for 20 minutes before death

A Fayetteville mother, who was charged because of the drowning of her 15 -month -old daughter, allegedly left her two children in a separate room for 20 minutes, according to the charging document.

Mariah Dawson, 19, is charged with the second degree murder regardless of human life and negligent child abuse, which causes serious assault in the family home on Hodhat Drive when her child's child's death.

According to the charging document, Dawson put Gahlani on April 9th ​​and another child in the tub after finding her dirty when she was left up on the upper floor, while she was fare.

“Mariah said she left her in the bathroom with the water for about twenty minutes … and not checked for the well -being of the children for over 20 minutes,” said the affidavit.

The recording states when Dawson and her sister ran to the bathroom after they hit the floor, the baby no longer reacted. The police and paramedics were called home around 4.45 p.m.

The child was brought to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was succumbed to the following day, according to the recording. The cause of death is ruled as drowning.

“On the basis of the study, it was found that Mariah left her two -year -old and one -year -old old in the bathtub through gross negligence while the water was unattended. This negligence led to death,” says the affidavit.

In the recording, it finds that Dawson was accepted in Florida at the time the arrest order on April 21.

She was instructed to the Cumberland County prison on April 23. Court files show that two days later it was released against an unsecured deposit of 300,000 US dollars. Such a deposit enables a defendant to be released from custody without paying money in advance.

According to Dawson's publication order, it should occur in the GPS monitoring, have no contact with minors, work with the Department of Social Services, stay in Cumberland County and live with her brother. She can leave the house to take part in medical appointments, visits to the law and court meetings, according to the release.
