No plans for Trump-Xi talks, Ackman swims China break

It was a big week for company results, and the tariffs were still an important topic that spoke to managers.

Here you can see what the managers of three large companies in consumers said in their winners' shots on the effects of tariffs on price and care levels.

Newell brands (NWL): We accelerated and then stopped inventory orders from China

The manufacturer of Rubbermaid, Sharpie and Yankee Candle announced a price increase of 10%, but stated that the tariff set of 125% for Chinese goods was not yet evaluated.

“We probably have three or four months of inventory in the United States that are not subject to the tariff,” said Chris Peterson, CEO of Newell Brands, and found that the company accelerated invoices in the United States.

“At this point we also trained additional input or inventory from China. So we do not pay the tariff at this time. At some point we will assume the inventory. The retailers will have the inventory more and we will re -order in China.”

eBay (EBay): We inform customers about tariff price increases, delays

Ebay's CEO said that on his cash register pages about the tasks that customers paid, he started with the news programs.

“Our Speedpak shipping program manages a large part of the complexity of international shipping for [cross-border trade] Seller, “said the eBay CEO Jamie Iannone.

“In the case of non-Speedpak purchases, we manage expectations to buyers by informing them about the new costs, information requirements and potential delays in connection with international programs. This includes messages about the view objects and the checkout pages on Ebay as well as localized information pages with current instructions that change quickly.”

Kraft Heinz (KHC): We are working on minimizing price increases

“We try to do everything we can to minimize the required height,” said Kraft Heinz CFO Andre Maciel. “We expected some purchases. We are looking for alternative procurement. There is the possibility to take new formulation in some cases.

“So we take all sorts of levers,” said Maciel, “but the pricing could be as a side.”
