Clearwater, Fla. – – According to the US Coast Guard, a hit-and-run boat accident killed a person with the Clearwater ferry and sent 12 more to the hospital on Sunday evening.

According to the US Coast Guard, one person was killed and 12 brought to hospitals. Two of the victims had to be flown to hospitals due to the severity of their injuries.

A witness said that they had a boat to drive directly into the ferry by driving before the crash and gave the passengers little time to impact.

Officials say that several people fell into the water after the impact.

We also ask that everyone who has information about this incident or has the video of this incident will turn to us,” said Rob Shaw, public information officer of the city of Clearwater.

“I fell between two seats. I couldn't get up and everything I saw were people who only screamed and tried and tried to react to what happened,” said Brenda Alvarez, a passenger on the ferry. “The first thing was that my children were in order and it was fine for my husband. We just did what we could do to help people who were more injured than we were.”

The mayor of Clearwater, Bruce Rector, took shortly after falling on social media and all pray this evening for those who are involved in the boat accident.
