2 killed when crashing with a dump truck in Orangeburg County

Orangeburg, SC (WRDW/dares) – Two people died on Interstate 95 in Orangeburg County on Tuesday morning.

Soldiers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say that the crash was near Mile Marker 87 at 12:45 p.m.

According to Troopers, a dump truck and a Chevrolet Equinox from 2019 from 1987 traveled north to the I-95 when the driver of the Equinox met the back of the trough.

The driver and passenger of the Equinox died on site due to their injuries, the soldiers say. The rear passenger of the Equinox was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

Soldiers say that the driver of the dump truck was not injured in the accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol examines the crash.
