Laredo starts phase 2 of the integrative playground project

Laredo, Tex. (KGNS) – City leaders and families come together on Tuesday morning, May 6th, to build the next part of North Central Park including playground.

The city of Laredo and the council member of District 6, Dr. Tyler King, organized a groundbreaking event for phase 2 of the project. The goal is to create a place where all children – regardless of their ability – can play together.

This next part of the playground includes soft lawn, shadow and play areas that are easy to use for children with disabilities. It will also have quiet spots for children who may need a break.

The work is paid for by money from the 2024 city bond. The design and the building are carried out by Slay Architecture and Zertuche Construction.

The city says this is part of a larger plan to improve parks and fun outdoors for all families in Laredo.
