Orioles announces details about the scoreboard and video upgrades at Camden Yards

A long promised upgrade to Camden Yards is on the way in the form of a new, larger video board. The Maryland Stadium Authority approved the plans for the new Center Field display table, the Orioles announced on Tuesday as part of several upgrades that come in the baseball stadium.

The new video board in Center Field, which will be in operation for the 2026 season, is the twelve largest in the Major League baseball, the association said. In addition, there will be a new video video with the right field under the flag farm, new ribbon videoats along the club level and the upper deck as well as a uniform control room to support video production.

The construction of the improvements begins after the 2025 season. Even with the new Videoard in midfield, the legendary clock and oriole -bird -Weathervanes (as well as the T. Rowe Price Advertisement board with the company's RAM) will remain.

In October 2024, the Maryland Stadium Authority, which Camden Yards monitors, approved a financing plan of $ 135 million for renovation work in the Oriole Park in Camden Yards. The improvements presented on Tuesday are only part of this allocation.

Shortly after the hiring of Catie Grigg as President for business companies, Griggs said that an upgrade of the video and sound system was high on the Orioles priority list.

Phil Hutson, the Vice President of Capital Projects and improvements, said 34 offers for six packages, according to Phil Hutson. The association is awarding the projects to the Gilbane company.

According to an MSA spokesman, the guaranteed maximum price for the contract with Gilbane is 22,744,395.36. The project approved on Tuesday is intended for demolition, steel steel, HLK devices, electrical devices, LED video and band boards, an AV integrator and a control room.

Craig Thompson, the President of the Maryland Stadium Authority, said that the video component costs an estimated 6 million US dollar. The control room costs 8 million US dollars. And other costs are required to set up the videooard and improve new systems.

This approval does not contain audio supporters, said Thompson. That will come in July or August.

The project will be presented to the Maryland Board of Public Works on May 21.

The Maryland Stadium Authority also discussed a comprehensive financing plan for Camden Yards. Chief Financial Officer Dawn Abshire said that “tariffs run everywhere”, which complicated the financing packages. A few months ago, prices started around 4%, said Abshire. They are now estimated at 6%.

“The market prices in April were extremely volatile with the introduction of the federal tariff”, which caused a market jump.
