Family identified Dean, who were killed when shooting the Spartan College – NBC Los Angeles

A Spartan College Dean, which was killed on campus at a shootout last week, was remembered by family members as a compassionate person who helped the future of students to work as a committed pedagogue.

Dr. Comisha Clark died on Monday afternoon, according to family members who published an explanation on Tuesday. Clark was one of two women who were shot in an office on Friday afternoon on the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology campus in Inglewood.

“We are more than destroyed,” said Clark's family. “Comisha's life was taken over too early in an act of senseless violence that no woman should ever endure. She was an amazing person who didn't deserve it. She lived her best life and did the work she loved.

“Comisha was the most compassionate, most lovingly and extremely loyal. She was a bright, joyful, motivated and compassionate woman, who touched countless life throughout the country from her hometown Atlanta, GA.

“Their legacy is not defined by the type of death, but in the extraordinary way she lived. She was a pioneer and inspiration after recently promoted to a dean at the Spartan College of Aeronautics and the technology.

Clark was a beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, girlfriend and mentor, said the family.

“She brought warmth, laughter and grace into our lives every day,” continued the statement. “Your presence was a gift and the emptiness that was left behind is immeasurable.”

A 40-year-old security guard from Monterey Park was charged with the shootout on Tuesday for murder and tried murder. The suspect was also charged with the possession of a firearm with a previous violent conviction and a criminal in the possession of a firearm.

It was in custody of $ 1 million bond. Details on a motif behind the shootings were not immediately available.

Family and friends of Clark took part in court proceedings on Tuesday.

The mayor of Inglewood, James T. Butts, said reporters that the man was recently hired as a security guard on campus.

The victims were dean on college and their receptionist or assistant, said Butts. The 35-year-old dean was hospitalized in a critical condition and later died in the hospital. Dr. Comisha Denise Clark died on Monday afternoon, her family said.

Chris Becker, President of Spartan College Inglewood Campus, made an explanation on Saturday.

“We are deeply sad and upset about what was going on,” said Becker. “Our thoughts are with our two employees who are in medical care and their families during this time. Consulting services and support are arranged for students and employees for the coming days.”
