Every denver nugget player who wins NBA MVP

The Denver Nuggets have the luxury of bringing one of the best players in the world to the square every evening. Nikola Jokic has become an annual NBA MVP candidate and is the finalist of the award for the 2024-25 season again.

The nuggets have no famous story with the MVP price. Denver joined the NBA in 1976 and did not win it until 2021.

What follows is a look at the Nuggets players, who were named NBA MVP and the history of the team.

The NBA has awarded the most valuable player price every season since 1956 when striker Bob Pettit from St. Louis Hawks won him. Every winner has received Michael Jordan Trophy since 2021, a change compared to the previous name, the Maurice Podoloff Trophy.

Until the 1979/80 season, the MVP was selected by a player lesson, but this changed for the 1980/81 campaign with a group of sports journalists and transmitters in the league vote on the selection. Each ballot has five slots, with each first votes worth 10 points, second worth seven worth seven worth five or fourth value of three and fifth value worth one.

Thirty -six different players won the NBA MVP Award. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the all-time leader who won it six times, while Michael Jordan and Bill Russell won five.

The widest gap in the voting game after the 1999-2000 season when Shaquille O'Neal received 120 out of 121 first votes to win the price by 799 points. The guards of Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson received the other first place voices.

An Nuggets player won the NBA MVP Award three times, but the same man every three times. Jokic has won three of the last four seasons. He took home the award in 2021, 2022 and 2024, while in 2023 he took second place after Philadelphia 76ers Center Joel Embbiid.

Jokic will be a finalist again in 2025 and will almost certainly end up next to the Top Two alongside Oklahoma City Thunder Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

While Jokic is the only Denver player who wins the award, he is not the only nugget that approaches. In 1978 David Thompson took third place, while Alex English took third place in 1983.

Nikola Jokic

The three seasons in which Jokic won the MVP price were among the best in the NBA history for a center.

During the 2020-21 campaign, he scored an average of 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game and scored 56.6% from the field, 38.8% from a three-point range and 86.8% from the free-wing line.

In the 2021-22 season, he followed an average of 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per competition, while he scored 58.3% from the field, 33.7% from a three-point range and 81.0% from the free-wing line.

After missing the award in 2023, he resigned in the 2023-24 season to win again. He achieved an average of 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game. It shot 58.3% out of the field, 35.9% from the three -point range and 81.7% from the free -wing line.

Jokic's versatility made him a multi-year MVP candidate and he seemed to get better with age. During the 2024-25 campaign, he set career height in points (29.6), assists (10.2) and steals (1.8) per game, while turning a career best 41.7% from the three-point range.

We will see whether he can add to the trophy case in 2025.
