Mercy for Oklahoma Death Row inmate John Hanson denied; Execution for June 12th – Newstalk KZRG

The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board voted to refuse grace for the inmates of death tooth John Hanson on Wednesday, May 7th.

Officials say that Hanson and an accomplice fed 77-year-old Mary Bowles in Tulsa in Tulsa in 1999. Before she was shot, Hanson and his accomplice shot Jerald Thurman, an innocent viewer.

“The families of Mary Bowles and Jerald Thurman have waited more than a quarter of a year to see the judiciary against this insensitive murderer,” said Drummond. “I appreciate the pardon and the probation assistant for the rejection of grace today. The biden government has protected this monster for too long from justice. Now it is time for the pain and suffering that he has been delivered by the judiciary if the death penalty on June 12 is rightly served.”

According to the Attorney General of Oklahoma, Gentner Drummond, Hanson was transferred from a federal prison in Louisiana in March.

“We have heard that John Hanson is a changed man, a responsible and trustworthy member of his prison community and that he expresses remorse for the senseless murder of Mary Bowles. By refusing mercy, the state is now carried out by John Hanson's senseless killing.” Rev. Don Heath, Oklahoma Coalition, reacted to abolish the death penalty.

Hanson's execution date is set for June 12, 2025.
