Austin Peay Grief Death of the Football Player – Field Level Media – Professional Sportin Hain Solutions

Austin Pay confirmed the death of the senior defensive back William Hardrick. He was 22.

Hardrick died on Tuesday, but there was no cause of death or other details available.

“William Hardrick was an extraordinary young man and our team is of his defeat with a broken heart,” said head coach Jeff Faris in a press release. “He made everyone around him better and had a real effect on both and outside the field. We raise the Hardrick family in prayer while we mourn for this tragic loss.”

Hardrick prepared for his first season with the governors after playing from 2021-22 and Miami (Ohio) from 2023-24 in the state of Mississippi.

“We are really sad about the death of William Hardrick, a new member of our football program and the Austin Pay family,” said APSU sports director Gerald Harrison. “All of our thoughts and prayers are today with the Hardrick family. We will do everything we can to support his friends, family and teammates at that time.”

Hardrick performed in a game in the Mississippi State and in 18 games in Miami (Ohio). In 11 games last season he recorded 26 duels and four defenders.
