Atlanta, GA. (Atlanta News First) – An alumnus of Clark Atlanta University was shot at her workplace last week, a California Aviation College.

Dr. Comisha Clark, 35, was recently promoted to the Dean for Student Affairs at the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Los Angeles in the Los Angeles region. But she was one of two people who were shot at school last Friday, which, according to CBS, led to her death.

In a statement, Clark Atlanta University said that it mourned around Clarks loss. Clark acquired three grades from school, but her connection is more than school – she is the granddaughter of Betty Clark, the former school and vice president for academic matters.

“Dr. Clark's life embodied excellence, resilience and service,” said the school. “Your heritage will inspire CAU nation forever.”

In 2011, Clark acquired her bachelor's degree in psychology, her master's degree in social work in 2013 and her doctoral thesis in higher education in 2020, the school announced in an earlier contribution with the appointment of Clark to Dean.

On May 2, 40-year-old Jesse Figueroa, a security officer at the Aviation School in Inglewood, allegedly shot Clark and her receptionist. It is expected that the receptionist, who has not been identified, will recover.

The mayor of Inglewood, James T. Butts, told CBS that the shootout was targeted, as Figueroa reports, according to one of the decisions of the dean.

Taylor Murray, Clark's sister, told CBS that her family was “destroyed beyond the”.

“Comisha's life was taken in an act of senseless violence far too early that no woman should ever endure,” she said. “She was an astonishing person who didn't deserve it. She lived her best life to do the work she loved.”

The alleged shooter remains in prison with a bond of 5.3 million US dollars.
