Chicopee Crash family “shocked” after the Grand jury's decision

Chicopee, MA (WGGB/WSM) – A woman was not hit by one but two separate vehicles, while he was walking in the Abbey Memorial Drive in Chicopee in February. Now one of the drivers who are involved in the fatal fatal crash is no longer being pursued by criminal law.

All charges against 23-year-old Jerimeldo Lopez from South Hadley were dropped after the Grand jury issued a so-called “no law” in this case. Maria Velez, the mother of the victim Vanessa Perez, said to Western mass messages: “Vanessa was such a humble person, a sensitive person, and, you know, she came here to live with me. She worked on her apartment.” Kenneth AppleWhite, Perez 'lives, added: “She was a beautiful person. She lived at the moment and loved life.”

In this case against Lopez, the public prosecutor's office of Hampden submitted a “Noelle professional” after Lopez had been accused of leaving the location of personal injury or death and the negligent operation of a motor vehicle for his alleged participation in the collision of February 9 on February 9 at the Abbey Memorial Drive in Chicopee. After the crash, Lopez was not guilty. It was held against a deposit of 10,000 US dollars and should appear in court on Tuesday due to a hearing in court.

Western mass messages have turned to the office of the DA to get a comment about why you submitted “Noelle professionals” in this case, and you said in a statement: “We are disappointed with the decision of the Grand Jury, but we are still looking for justice and will examine all available options to pass on the case.”

Velez told us that she still wants justice for her daughter. “I was shocked. I said how can you leave Lopez and drop the indictment about how he is the one who put it in the middle of the street, or the Acura would not have run over it.”

We also turned to Lopez's lawyer to comment on this case. He told us that the Grand jury had issued a “NO law” in this case, which means that the evidence submitted by the public prosecutor was not sufficient to support legal proceedings.
