Illegal camping quotes that tend in Lexington

Lexington, Ky. (WKYT) – It was almost ten months since the “safer kentucky act” came into force, which it is illegal to camp or sleep in public areas.

Records by Samantha Valentino von Wkyt show that the number of quotes for illegal camping in Lexington is exhibited.

Since the law on July 15, 58 people have been charged with illegal camping.

In the two weeks after the “safer Kentucky Act” came into force, 15 people were charged. The following month, August, there was the highest number of quotations within one month of 16.

Not everyone who is quoted is arrested. Of the 58 quotations, 23 led to an arrest.

In addition to illegal camping, all of the arrested were suspended at least one other indictment. The most common additional indictment was criminal violation as well as public poisoning and drug costs.

Seven people were quoted in 2025 by the end of April.

In January, no quotes for illegal camping were issued in January, in February, three in March and two in April, two people were quoted.

Five of the seven people mentioned so far were arrested in 2025. Anyone who has been arrested was suspended at least one additional indictment.
