The new podcast of 'Dark Side' highlights worrying case of the series poison of Medina County

Cleveland, Ohio (Woio) – Today we drop the fourth and last episode of “Cleveland's Wicked Women” as part of our true crime thriller podcast Dark Side of the Land.

In the episode with the title “Don't Drink the Water” we bring you the dark and disturbed story of Martha Wise, a woman of Medina County, who poisoned 17 members of her own family.

There is a pretty bad story on the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Medina County.

Buried, there are several victims of Wise, the obscene amounts of arsenic in water buckets and coffee pots.

At least three people died on their hand. More than a dozen more, including their own children, suffered for the rest of their lives after being paralyzed by the poison.

Wises motif is still an option, but she had a very strange obsession.

“She already took part in many funerals. That was a kind of hobby,” said Cody Singler, who produces the YouTube channel “Oddity Acres”.

Wise has never missed a funeral in her hometown for 20 years.

“She would go there, she, whether she knew the person or not whether she had ever met the person or not,” said Singler. “And she would be the first person in the first church and absolutely because she looked her feelings. It really frightened the cities, number one.

“She continued at funerals, regardless of whether it was practically a stranger, she would become like a bathtub that full tears and screams and rocking overcrowded back and forth,” said John Stark Bellamy, author of “Women who behave badly: true Tales of Cleveland's wild killers.”

But Wise's fascination for funerals and death had to be fed, so she created more options.

She pretended to have a rat problem, bought hundreds of arsenic grains and fed her closest relatives fatal doses of heavy metal at family meetings and public holidays.

The poisoning lasted months.

The research of Singler has triggered Wise, who spoke of ghosts, and said the devil let her do it.

But he suspects that what has caused the sadistic behavior of the widow to do less with the paranormal and more with forbidden love.
