The death of the Brazilian F1 super fan in Japan triggers nationalist debates on abroad

A Brazilian influencer and Formula -1 fan who explained her love for Japan and told her mother that she was completely safe in the country, was found dead under suspicions -only hours before she was supposed to fly home.

Amanda Borges da Silva, 30, died on May 1 of smoke in breathing after a rented apartment in Narita near Tokyo's main port of Tokyo.

Her death has triggered a criminal investigation and the arrest of an unemployed man in Sri Lanka, who is supposedly fled out of the scene – as well as a wave of nationalistic setbacks online about foreign crimes in Japan.

The 31 -year -old Abaseliya Udayanga was taken into custody three days later after the suspicion of being on fire. Japanese media reported that he left the apartment without trying to extinguish the fire.

A number of personal objects were also missing. The local media quoted the police, including a cell phone, jewelry and electronic devices. Reports in Brazilian media have proposed that Da Silva had been examined and that the police in Japan were investigating whether their death was deliberately.

The incident has made headlines worldwide-because since Silva was a well-known Formula 1 superfan, which also had almost 13,000 followers on Instagram-but solved angry reactions in social media through foreigners who committed crimes that affect Japan's reputation for security.
