The British woman stabbed the French village 8 times, which has not seen a serious crime for 50 years

A woman from British-South African who had two apartments in the French village of Tremolat was brutally stabbed last week.

The 65 -year -old Karen Carter was found dead after he was stabbed on April 29 in the Dordogne region in southwestern France, the BBC reported.

A male girlfriend found the mother of four children next to her veranda with eight heavy stab wounds over chest, groin, arm and leg. “

The French public prosecutor claimed that the investigation focused on “people who probably had a resentment” against Ms. Carter or the man with whom she had an affair that finally discovered her body, the Times reported.

Jean-Francois Guerrier, a 74-year-old local businessman, should have an affair with Ms. Carter in the weeks before the attack. He was briefly arrested, but released without being charged.

Ms. Carter and Mr. Guerrier reported a café in the community. Since her visit from 2009, she has headed two holiday properties in France, according to a report in The Independent.

The investigation by the public prosecutor's office in Sylvie Martins-Guedes said that the French officials concentrated on anyone who had a close relationship with the two and could “have been followed by one or both.

The police also arrested a 69-year-old neighbor during the investigation, but the woman was finally released.

Friends and neighbors are amazed at the brutality of the attack in a village with around 600 inhabitants, which has not experienced a major crime for almost 50 years.

Ms. Carter's husband Alan Carter, 65, who lives in South Africa and spent some time in France, was shocked when he had learned about the alleged infidelity of her late wife.

Mr. Carter told Times that the police statement had tightened the sadness of his and his children.

He claimed that his cousin, who lives in Tremola, informed him about Ms. Carter's brutal murder after watching a contribution on Facebook.

“She called me and said she was sad to tell me that she thought Karen had died. That was the first thing I heard about it,” Carter told the BBC.

Mr. Carter said that his family had experienced “traumatic” grief about Ms. Carter's death and described them as a social, gracious person who “would not violate a fly”.

He added that Ms. Carter “pretty” and “everyone liked them”.

“She enjoys having fun and is an extrovert who loves people. She has a good heart and is loved by everyone,” said Carter.

No suspects have yet been custody.
