After a Stephen Curry injury, warriors are exposed to reality: “We will absolutely rely on Jimmy.”

Minneapolis – The Golden State Warriors knew the reality, they only wanted one night to enjoy victory before hearing the news about Stephen Curry.

As expected, Curry will be missed at least a week with a left thigh stamping, which he suffered on Tuesday in game 1 of the second round of the Warriors against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hopefully Curry can reappear for the Warriors will, with the series still alive.

There is no “profit for Steph”, head coach Steve Kerr can give the Warriors because everything is about him.

“He is like Tim Duncan in San Antonio, Michael Jordan in Chicago,” said Kerr on Wednesday afternoon. “None of this happens without Steph. And everyone knows that. The entire team understands that.”

Playoffs without a curry are not necessarily new for the Warriors, but the days when Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant wear things are long gone. Even with curry, the warriors put things together around an older core.

So there is hope – although no expectation – that Curry may be able to return before a potential game 6 in San Francisco on May 18, which would take 12 days after the injury. Game 5 is May 14th in Minneapolis, but that seems to be very close.

After their opening victory on Tuesday evening, the Warriors would have to win at least one more game.

“So in this room we are about how we will approach how the constellations will look,” said Kerr. “And it's all … it's all part of it. I mean, every year playoffs are about adapting, be it a schedule or an injury or list.

“So we just have to adapt. And we have already done that, and we are confident that we can do it again.”

It seems to be a bigger task at the moment when you consider how critical curry is a crime that is trying without him. Draymond Green had an offensive explosion in game 1 and for the first time since 2017, four threes achieved four three in a playoff game.

“I will not let this reality be used right now. We'll find out tomorrow,” said Green on Tuesday evening.

“Obviously it becomes more difficult if we have to go forward without Steph. But it is the same mission. We try to win this thing as many games as possible.”

The reality is here and begins with the fact that Curry will probably stand on the bench for the game on Thursday instead of flying back to San Francisco. Kerr will have to prone to his offense Jimmy Butler, who is able to achieve a great deal of use. The defense of Golden State has been the top of the league since the acquisition of Butler, and the Warriors were quite physical with the Timberwolves in the boards in game 1. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch claimed that Rudy Gobert was too much upgraded and said that he had sent ligaments to the league as evidence.

Kerr does not disagree – but with his own restrictions.

“Everyone merged each other,” said Kerr. “I just feel like you [refs] Have a really hard job because Playoff -Basketball is, yes, it's physical and you will allow more, but I think you could have called six, seven possessions in a row that Steph protect. And so I got my symptoms. “
