The Bay High School team played the Olmsted Falls High School in Olmsted Falls when Dylan Veselic was injured.

Ems transported Veselic from the game to a nearby hospital and was taken to a hospital in the city center with the medical helicopter, where he had an emergency operation.

Scot Prebles, superintendent of the Bay Village City School District, said Veselic was in a critical condition.

“Our administrative team, consultant, school psychologist and nursing coordinator were early on this (Wednesday) tomorrow at the Bay High School to meet members of the Lacosse team and other members of the BHS students, and today they stay on site at the high school for every student who may need support,” said Prebles.

The prayer service on Thursday takes place at 7 p.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 525 Dover Center RD. in Bay Village.
