President to sign a first trade agreement; House to vote on the renaming of Gulf of America

JPMorgan: US UK trade agreement that probably only has limited effects

Analysts from JPMorgan said that the trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom that Trump announced this morning would probably have a “limited” impact.

“It remains to be seen whether the United Kingdom can organize an exception to the basic tariff after the subsequent negotiations,” they wrote.

“If the US base tariff does not give any further breakthrough, this would significantly restrict the economic upward trend through continued negotiations and other concessions,” the analysis said. “Since the United Kingdom in the largely balanced trade with the United States, a reasonably good political relationship, no real threat from retaliation measures by Westminster and extensive bilateral negotiations that have taken place, it is not clear where Britain can go from here.”

Great Britain has been the best buyer of US services in recent years, but as a buyer of actual goods, finished fifth behind Canada, Mexico, China and Japan. While Great Britain is an important ally, the country does not even rank in the top 5 of imports for the USA

In the meantime, his unpredictable tariffs and his diplomatic approach have chosen a shadow about partnerships with Canada and Mexico.

House to vote on Bill to codify Trump's Golf from America Executive Order

Reporting from Washington

The house run by Republicans is expected to vote on laws that would make Trump's renaming the Golf of Mexico into the Federal Act Golf of America.

The GOOP law draft written by Rep. Majorie Taylor Green follows an executive regulation signed by Trump in January, in which the Interior Minister Doug Burgum took “all suitable measures to rename the golf” and updated a database of the “official name for geographical features in the 50 countries”.

While Trump does not need approval of the congress to ensure that the change of name in the Federal Government is reflected, the draft law would prevent a future president from making the step slightly canceled by executive measures.

“When the previous administration made it painfully clear, executive regulations can be reversed and overwritten, and that's why we have to move them through the legislative process-and we are,” said Respeaker Mike Johnson, R-La., Reporters on Tuesday. “We will survive Marjorie Taylor Greene to permanently rename the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America.”
