Identities published in the fatal crash of Winona Ebike Rider

Winona, MN (Kroc-am news)- The authorities in Winona identified the driver and e-biker, who was involved in a fatal crash at the beginning of this week.

First aiders were sent on Monday evening at around 8:00 a.m. for a fatal crash at the intersection of East Broadway/6th St. and Liberty St..

In a press release from the Winona police, the man who operates the e-bike was declared dead on site.

On Wednesday evening, the Winona police published the names of the e-biker and the driver.

The preliminary examination showed that a car turned a left into the Liberty Street from the 6th St. in west when it turned into the bathroom of the e-bike in the east.

The police said the view of the setting sun could have been a factor for the fatal crash.

The responding civil servants found the man on the e-bike on the street and passed out, according to the press release.

First aiders started with immediate life -saving measures on the biker, but he was declared dead at the scene.

67-year-old Michael John Ryan von Winona was identified as an e-biker. The police say that he had not worn a helmet.

The press release states that 54-year-old Gregory Stephen Ferriss from Winona drove the car. The Winona police say that the investigation has not yet been completed.

Alcohol and drug impairments are not suspected factors for deaths, according to the press release. The Minnesota State Patrol was asked to carry out a crash reconstruction.
