Fiery “Mass Casualty” Crash closes all lanes in the transmountain

Update: ABC-7 viewers have sent several videos and pictures of the crash.


Update: The police from El Paso has confirmed that first aiders took 6 people to the hospital after the crash. There was no word about the severity of her injuries. Our ABC-7 crew has arrived at the scene and is working on learning more.


El Paso, Texas (KVIA) – The fire brigade of El Paso has closed all lanes in North and South Desert BLVD. In the transmountain after a semi-trick crashed into several vehicles and caught fire. El Paso Fire says that the department was made aware of the crash at 6:21 a.m.

El Paso Fire calls the crash a “mass accident incident”. This does not necessarily indicate death, but to the scale of the required answer. The department has confirmed that several people are injured on site. We are still working to collect information about your conditions.

Txdot traffic cameras showed the truck in flames, feathers of fire and smoke that rose from the ruins.

All lanes in gauge 16 and valley bot are also still closed.
