Cash discovery in the judge's home scandal

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna sent the President and the Indian Prime Minister a confidential internal examination report on Justice Yashwant Varma. Together with the report, the written answer by Justiz Varma was also shared to the results.

The report was presented to the CJI by an internal three -person committee, which includes judges from various higher courts. The committee was set up to examine allegations of corruption that were found after a fire in the residence of Justice Varma in Delhi in Delhi in Delhi.

“In accordance with the internal procedure, the highest judge of India wrote to the honorable presidents and prime minister, in which the report of the three -member committee (from May 3, 2025) and judge Yashwant Varma (May 6, 2025) is included,” says a statement by the Supreme Court.

The internal procedure is a confidential mechanism used by the Supreme Court to check complaints against judges. It does not include a public procedure, but ensures that high -ranking judges rate the matter seriously and impartially.

Sources before, India Today said that Cji Khanna, who will retire next week, wanted to make a decision in this matter before developing the office.
