Driver who is exposed to possible charges after the pedestrian has been killed near the NJ Park

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle near the entrance to the Turkey Brook Park in Mount Olive.

The driver drove south shortly after 4 p.m. in the Flanders Road when the woman was hit on a crosswalk when she went towards the park, the Mount Olive police said.

The pedestrian died of her injuries in a regional hospital.

The police said that against the driver who stopped at the scene of the crime were pending.

A spokeswoman for the Mount Olive police refused to identify the pedestrian on Thursday morning, and said: “Specific charges can only be determined when the examination has been completed.”

The Flanders Road was closed between the Elias Drive and the Sunset Drive for about three hours when the police examined the incident.
