Former Ky. High School soccer star dies after the motorcycle accident

Corbin, Ky. (Wymt/Wkyt) – A former football star of the Whitley County High School died after a motorcycle accident.

An obituary says that 19 -year -old Tye Hamblin from Corbin died on Tuesday in Saint Joseph London Hospital.

According to the Whiteley County's office, the crash at the crossroads of Hwy occurred. 25 and Angel Road. The sheriff's office The motorcycle went for a curve and crashed.

Hamblin completed the Whitley County High School in May 2024.

“Tye was a lively part of the chief family, who was excellent as a student, athlete and welder. His contagious smile and its contagious energy are very missing. Our thoughts and prayers go to the entire community of Whitley while we mourn the loss of our own.”

He visited the Kentucky Welding Institute and became a certified welder in March of this year.

His visit will take place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Fitness Studio Whitley Middle School.

The funeral will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel.
