Woman killed in arson almost 20 years ago; The police are still looking for answers

The Springfield police renewed their request for help from the public to solve the murder of a 25-year-old woman from 2008.

Alia Hartman was killed in the early morning hours on Friday, May 9, 2008.

In the early morning that day, Springfield Firefighers reacted to the report of a house fire to Sweetbriar Lane South.

Firefighters discovered Hartman's body in the house.

She was seen by several witnesses the night before the fire.

The investigators found that the fire was arson, and the Coroner's Office of Clark County decided their death as a murder.

The investigators have worked with neighbors and community members to solve the case, but further information is required.

The police asks someone with information: “No matter how small or a long time”, to report and share it with the police department.

“Everything it needs is a new information to advance this case. We are still obliged to seek justice for Alia and her loved ones,” said Detective Kevin Miller.
